Loving Loaf Bread
Topping:

½ c butter, melted |

1/3 c sugar |

1 c chopped pecans |
|
1 ½ c vanilla wafers, crushed |
Combine topping ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Pat into bottom of well greased loaf pans. Set aside.
Batter:

1 c butter |
|
2 c sugar |
|
4 large eggs |
|
1 c milk |
|
2 tsp. vanilla |
|
2 2/3 c flour |
|
1 ½ tsp baking powder |
|
½ tsp salt |
Cream butter & sugar together. Add eggs one at a time & beat well after each addition. In separate bowl, combine milk & vanilla. In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt together. Add to batter mixture alternating beginning with milk & ending with flour. Beat well. Pour into loaf pans. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
